Comparison

DesignDeck compared with Durable

Durable and DesignDeck are aimed at the same person: a solo owner or a small business who wants a site now and does not want a project. Both get you to something live in about a minute. What separates them is where the page comes from.

Durable generates it. You answer three questions about your industry, your business name and your goals, and an AI writes the copy, picks the layout and supplies the images, in under thirty seconds by the company's own claim. DesignDeck does not generate anything: every deck was designed and written by a person, once, properly, and your details are placed into it. One approach scales to any trade; the other produces a page nobody has to apologise for.

What Durable is

An AI website builder that positions itself as a whole business tool rather than only a site: CRM at every tier, booking calendar sync, AI blog posts, an AI chat and lead-reply agent, AI images and SEO tooling. Its free tier publishes to a durable.site subdomain and is metered rather than trial-limited: 5 images and 10 AI chat messages a month, up to 10 CRM contacts, 2 blog posts a month, and no custom domain. Launch was listed at $22 a month monthly, roughly $18.70 with the annual discount, and Grow at $49 a month, both fetched from Durable's own pricing page. A custom domain up to $20 in value is included on Launch and above.

Two criticisms recur in reviews. The output is described as generic, with the AI-generated template look and limited control over type and headings. And there is no code export or code ownership at any tier, which one Product Hunt reviewer raised directly.

What is different here

Nothing here is generated. The decks are hand-built sites with real photography, real editorial pacing and real motion, and the reason there are dozens rather than infinite is that each one had to be finished before it went on the shelf. The catalogue is organised by trade, so the dental deck was designed for a dental practice rather than assembled from a prompt containing the word dental.

Filling it is one form and under a minute, the same speed Durable advertises, and it is live and shareable while it is still free. Where Durable is broader is its business tooling: its CRM is at every tier and there is a lead-reply agent and a blog generator. If those are what you are buying, that is a real reason to pick it.

When Durable is the better buy

  • You want a CRM, bookings and AI lead replies bundled at the entry price.
  • Your trade is not on our shelf and you need something today.
  • You would rather have a free subdomain site indefinitely than a finished one you pay to keep.

What you would actually be getting

Each of these is a running site, not a screenshot of one. Open it, then put your own name in it.

Questions people ask first

Is a generated site worse than a designed one?

It is different in a way that is easy to see and hard to fix: reviewers describe Durable's output as generic and template-like. Whether that matters depends on whether your customers compare you against anyone.

Does DesignDeck use AI to build the sites?

The decks are built by hand to a written standard. What you fill in is a form, not a prompt, which is why what you get back is the site you looked at rather than an approximation of it.

Which is cheaper?

Durable's own pricing page listed Launch at $22 a month, or about $18.70 on annual billing, as the first tier with a custom domain. Our floor is on the pricing page. Durable's free tier lasts indefinitely and ours is seven days, which is a real difference if free is what you need.
